This page explains how to delete your SwayBlu account and request deletion of personal data, including data accessed via connected social platforms (for example, Facebook/Instagram).
Option A: Delete your SwayBlu account (recommended)
- Sign in to SwayBlu.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Select Delete account and confirm.
What happens next:
- Your account is deactivated and access is removed.
- Scheduled posts may be cancelled.
- We begin deleting or de-identifying personal data associated with your account, subject to legal and billing record retention.
Deletion timeline:
- Core account data removal begins promptly.
- Residual deletion from backups/downstream systems: up to 90 days.
- Some records (e.g., invoices) may be retained as required by law.
Option B: Revoke SwayBlu's access on Facebook/Instagram (Meta)
You can revoke access at any time through Meta settings. This prevents SwayBlu from accessing or publishing to the affected account until you reconnect.
Typical path:
- Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites) → find SwayBlu → Remove
- Instagram (if connected via Meta): manage through Meta/Facebook business settings for connected apps
After revoking, if you also want deletion of data stored in SwayBlu, use Option A (account deletion) or Option C (manual request).
Option C: Request deletion by email (manual request)
If you cannot access your account, or you want a formal deletion request, email us:
Subject: Data Deletion Request
Include:
- the email address linked to your SwayBlu account
- your name and business name (if applicable)
- which connected platforms you used (e.g., Facebook Page, Instagram account)
- any relevant identifiers (optional): page name, page ID
We may ask for verification to prevent unauthorised deletion. We aim to respond within 30 days (or sooner where required).
What data is deleted vs retained
Deleted (or de-identified where appropriate):
- account profile data
- stored content, drafts, scheduled posts
- stored media (where not legally required to keep)
- integration tokens and connection data
May be retained:
- billing/tax records (invoices, receipts) as required by law
- security logs to prevent fraud/abuse (kept for a limited period)
- data in encrypted backups until the backup cycle expires (up to 90 days)
Marketing emails
You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email. Unsubscribing stops marketing messages, but does not delete your account. For full deletion, use Option A or C.
AI Improvement Program
If you want to stop your content being used for AI improvement without deleting your account, turn off the AI Improvement Program in Settings. To delete your data, use Option A or Option C.
